I tried it with both the US savegames of Dissidia, Prologus and even the Aerith DLC from the US PSN, and it works fine.
I couldn't believe it either til I checked, though. Some sites sold the EU leak as US right from the start as well...

I had some issues with the cutscenes in Prologus [US], where the game died after the scenes.
Switching from the Sony NP9660 to M33 driver eliminated that issue.
Maybe that helps?

Did you check if the save works in the original game?
If it does, I'd really recommend you to doublecheck if you've got the EU or US version of either of them.

@DarkChaplain i'm using the M33 driver already. D: There must be something else? o:
The game doesn't die after the cutscenes, though. It just hangs. So I tried continuing the game instead in Story Mode. But then, after fighting Kuja for the first time, the game dies.
how do you load the aerith assist dlc with this? somehow it's annoying 'coz it doesn't work for me
Upgraded my firmware to 5.50 GEN-D3 and disabled my plug-ins. Working pretty fine now! :D

I never used the GEN CFWs, sadly. Was always a patch ahead, and my TA88v3 PSP 2000 was always a risky thing.
I'm glad a simple update fixed it for you;
Its somehow funny how the full CFWs now make more trouble and give more compatibility issues than the latest 'soft'-cfws

Buy the Aerith DLC from the PSN.
Check if you have the right version of the game that fits your PSN purchase.
Install Aerith by downloading and activating it via PSN, PS3 or MediaGo.
Start D012 and equip her, she should be available immidiately.
